There is no single standard cost for rehab in Bali. Prices vary with programme length, room type, clinical staffing, medical needs, therapy time and aftercare. Many providers require an enquiry before giving a complete quote, so the useful comparison is not the headline price—it is the total cost for the level of care a person actually needs.
As one current public example, Freedom Bali lists 28-day private programmes at AUD 32,950 and AUD 38,950 on its own website as of 17 July 2026. That is one provider’s published price, not a Bali market average or an endorsement.
Why Bali rehab prices vary
Two 28-day programmes can contain very different amounts of clinical care. Cost may change according to:
- Residential, outpatient or medically directed care.
- Shared, private or premium accommodation.
- Staff-to-client ratio and overnight staffing.
- Medical assessment, withdrawal management and medication.
- Psychiatry and individual therapy hours.
- Laboratory tests, hospital care or specialist appointments.
- Family work and case coordination.
- Transport, activities and meals.
- The duration and format of aftercare.
A private villa and a small client group can raise the price without proving clinical quality. Equally, a lower quote may exclude services that later become necessary.
A current provider-published example
Freedom Bali’s official pricing page lists these 28-day rates on 17 July 2026:
| Provider-published programme | Listed 28-day price |
|---|---|
| Freedom | AUD 32,950 / USD 23,450 |
| Freedom Plus | AUD 38,950 / USD 27,650 |
| Ultimate Freedom | Price on request |
The same page says that flights, visa costs, most medical bills, personal items and some meals are excluded. Provider terms and prices can change, so request a dated written quote before making a decision.
We have not converted this example into a “typical Bali price” because one public rate cannot establish a reliable range. A lower or higher quote should be evaluated against clinical suitability, inclusions and safety.
Ask for the complete treatment cost
Request one document that states:
- The full programme fee and currency.
- Deposit and payment schedule.
- Exactly what medical and psychological assessments are included.
- The number and duration of individual sessions.
- Detox monitoring, medication and medical exclusions.
- Accommodation, meals, laundry and transport.
- Laboratory, hospital and specialist costs.
- Family sessions and case coordination.
- Aftercare frequency, duration and provider.
- Extension, cancellation, transfer and early-discharge terms.
Ask whether tax or card fees apply and which exchange rate is used. If paying from overseas, currency movements can materially change the final amount.
Compare treatment, not package names
Names such as “premium”, “executive”, “holistic” and “intensive” are not standard levels of care. Build a simple comparison table using facts that can be checked.
| Compare | What to record |
|---|---|
| Clinical assessment | Who completes it and when |
| Individual therapy | Sessions per week, duration and clinician |
| Medical care | On-site availability and emergency pathway |
| Overnight support | Staff roles physically present |
| Accommodation | Shared or private; exact location |
| Aftercare | Frequency, duration and time-zone coverage |
| Total cost | Fee plus likely exclusions |
Our programme comparison helps identify centres to research. Contact the providers directly for current pricing and documents.
Detox can change the quote
Withdrawal needs can change both the appropriate setting and the cost. Do not choose a programme on price before disclosing alcohol use, other substances, prescribed medication, previous withdrawal and medical conditions.
Ask whether “detox included” covers medical assessment, monitoring, medication and emergency transfer. Some people require a hospital or medically directed setting that a residential programme cannot provide.
For alcohol specifically, read the alcohol rehab and withdrawal-safety guide. Do not delay urgent medical care while negotiating a residential package.
Budget beyond the programme fee
People travelling to Bali may also need to budget for:
- Flights and flexible changes.
- Visa and immigration requirements.
- Travel or medical insurance.
- Prescribed medication and documentation.
- A companion or supported transfer.
- Treatment before departure.
- Accommodation before or after the programme.
- Continuing therapy or recovery support at home.
Confirm whether the programme will refund or transfer fees if travel is disrupted or the person is found clinically unsuitable after arrival.
Does a higher price mean better treatment?
No. Price can reflect privacy, property, staffing and amenities, but it does not establish that treatment is appropriate or effective. Quality indicators include a thorough assessment, qualified staff, evidence-based care, appropriate medical support, family involvement where suitable and a continuing-care plan.
Ask the same clinical questions at every price point. Verify credentials and licences independently where possible rather than relying on logos or testimonials.
A practical way to shortlist programmes
Start with the level of care recommended by a qualified professional. Shortlist programmes that can provide it, request complete written quotes, and then compare cost alongside staffing, treatment time, emergency arrangements and aftercare.
