A strong sober day in Canggu uses the energy of the area without getting swallowed by it. Start with a morning meeting, add a second verified meeting at midday, then enjoy the gyms, beaches, coffee, padel or surf without losing the recovery plan.
This Thursday itinerary uses the current 9:00 am NA meeting at Warung Alus in Seseh and the noon AA Big Book Study at The Flow Bali Pererenan. Both were checked on 17 July 2026. Check the current Canggu meeting directory again before leaving and attend the fellowship that is appropriate for you.
Know the Canggu recovery hubs
The Flow Bali Pererenan is the main AA hub. There is currently an open meeting at noon every day of the week, with formats including Daily Reflection, Big Book and Step meetings. If you are staying around Pererenan, it is the first place to learn.
Legong Keraton Hotel is the Berawa alternative. The open Horizon Topic Discussion meeting currently runs at noon on Tuesday and Thursday. It is especially useful when crossing Canggu to Pererenan would turn the day into traffic.
Do not rely on an old screenshot for the evening. Canggu meeting venues and times change, and the current verified public data does not list an English-language Thursday evening meeting in the area. Check the live AA and NA sources before travelling; if there is no suitable in-person option, plan an online meeting or a call with someone in your recovery network.
6:00 am — beach walk and coffee
Pick the beach closest to where you are staying: Batu Bolong, Berawa, Pererenan or Echo Beach. Walk before the traffic builds, watch the surfers and get a proper coffee.
Canggu rewards early mornings. By midday it can feel like everyone is moving at once; at 6:00 am there is room to think.
7:00 am — prayer, journalling and a plan
Return to your accommodation, pray, journal, meditate and stretch. Confirm both meetings and map the rides now. Seseh, Pererenan, Echo Beach and Berawa may all be described as Canggu, but the trip between them can take longer than the map suggests.
Choose one person you will call and one useful thing you will do. The day already has its anchors.
9:00 am — morning NA at Warung Alus, Seseh
The Greenlot meeting is currently listed every morning at Warung Alus on Jl. Pantai Seseh. Seseh is just beyond Pererenan, but leave enough time rather than treating it as central Canggu.
Arrive early and stay for coffee if people are gathering afterwards. If someone suggests breakfast, go. The easiest way into Canggu recovery is to stop acting like you must figure out the whole area alone.
10:15 am — breakfast with the fellowship
Canggu has more coffee shops than anyone could sensibly review. The best one today is the one where the fellows are going. Eat something substantial and swap numbers with at least one person.
11:30 am — gym, sauna and ice bath
Canggu is full of genuinely good gyms. Pick the facility that suits how you train: strength, functional fitness, boxing, Pilates or a class. Many offer sauna and cold-plunge recovery, so make time for the full session rather than racing in for a photo and leaving.
Exercise supports the day; it is not the programme. If the choice is between another class and reaching the evening meeting calmly, choose the meeting.
2:00 pm — lunch and a quiet hour
Have lunch, hydrate and get out of the sun for a while. A short rest protects the second half of the day, especially if you surfed or trained hard.
4:00 pm — choose the Canggu you actually enjoy
- Surfing: book a lesson or surf a break suited to your real ability. Ask about current conditions and do not follow confident strangers into water beyond your experience.
- Padel: join a social game or class. It is an easy way to meet people without making nightlife the social plan.
- Run clubs: check the day’s start point and distance, then choose a pace you can recover from.
- Shopping and coffee: browse Batu Bolong, Berawa or Pererenan without trying to cover all three.
- Beach time: Echo Beach and Pererenan are easy choices when you want less scheduling.
For a rooftop sunset, Secana in Berawa or Sol can be beautiful, but both operate as hospitality venues where alcohol is present. Go with supportive people, order food or an alcohol-free drink and leave if the atmosphere is not right for you. The beach is always a valid sunset plan.
7:00 pm — keep the evening connected
Check the live Canggu directory again. If a suitable current in-person meeting is available, arrive early. If not, join the online meeting you chose that morning or make the planned call with your sponsor or another fellow. Do not turn the absence of a convenient local listing into an unstructured evening.
AA and NA are distinct fellowships. Attend meetings that fit your recovery and respect each group's access guidance.
8:15 pm — dinner with the fellowship
Stay for dinner. Canggu is full of people, but crowds are not the same as connection. The fellowship table turns a busy place into a community.
9:30 pm — gratitude, prayer and sleep
Pray and thank God for the day. Put the phone down, write tomorrow’s two meetings into the calendar and sleep early enough to make the morning one.
